Letter Tile App - A better way to use letter tiles for teaching reading and spelling.

Put those letter tiles away! No more needing to dump and flip tiles, or run out of letters. To clear the letters, press the bomb to blow up your words (a feature that kids love).

This free to use letter tile app is HTML5 based and can be played on most browsers. Teachers, you can use this on your Smart Boards! Tutors, use on you laptops, phones, or tablets. This is a great free tool for homeschooling to help with spelling and decoding. Also available as an iOS app at the Apple store.

Letter/Number Reversal App - A fun, interactive way to work on letter/number reversals for dyslexia.

software for letter/number reversals games for letter reversals b d help for refersals number reversal help dyslexia reversals help

Our free to use Reversal App has five multisensory activities that will help lessen your child's reversals. Two activities can be customized, where you can choose which letter or number you want to work with, with the reversal orientation (flipped horizontal or vertical). The other activities are for the common b-d reversal and b-d-p reversal. While reversals may be a life long struggle, they can be reduced when you teach your child that direction matters. Short Vowel Rocket Game App - A fun way to practice short vowel sounds.

Short vowel sounds are tricky because they sound similar and are difficult to distinguish. This is a fun way to identify the short vowel sound in a word that is called out by the robot. Your student can blow up the asteroid with the corresponding short vowel sound as an alien spaceship comes along to try and destroy the player's ship.

Customizable Flash Cards - Make your own e-flash cards.

Okay, we admit, this isn't the most exciting app, but it is a useful tool to save and organize your flash cards in one easy-to-use online app that you can use on most devices (such as mobile phones, tablets, and laptops). With this app, you can save as many lists as you need, and they don't have to be single words; you can also enter phrases or sentences. We recommend that you keep your lists in a separate file saved with a .txt extension, just in case your device's memory gets erased. You can either cut and paste the words into the list field (all words or sentences should be separated by commas) or import the text files separately.

This free to use app is HTML5 based and can be played on most browsers. This is also available as an iOS app at the Apple store.

The Homophone Hound App - A fun way to practice homophones!

This is a wonderful tool for homeschooling, tutoring, or for any student who needs practice in homophones. Homophones are words that sound the same, but are spelled different and have different meanings, such as "pair" and "pear".  See the list of homophones used in this app.

This app allows you to choose two methods of play; context - choosing from two words to fill in a blank in a sentence, and choosing the word for the given definition. After a chosen number of correctly answered questions, your student can choose from one of four fun play activities.

This web app is available for purchase as a web app (coming soon), which can be played on most browsers, or as an iOS Apple App available at the Apple store (coming soon).

If you purchase from this site, as a web app, you will be emailed a license code and a link to the app (or you can access the link from this page). Simply enter in the license code where prompted, and you will then have access to the app. Note that access will be saved in your browser. If your browser is cleared, you will have to re-enter the code.

I Can Fly Reading Program App - For our reading program for younger students, ages 5 to 7.

This fun app is part of our I Can Fly Reading Program. It can hold up to six different student accounts, so if your tutoring or working with a small group, we have you covered. As your students play, metrics will be gathered so you can see their progress. You'll be able to see how many answers were correct or incorrect for each lesson and for certain tasks (such as sounds read, words read, words spelled, etc.).

Your student will have fun playing the many phonics games while earning coins that can be spent at one of the three stores. They can purchase train parts and tracks to make a working train scene, purchase animals and farm items for their own farm, or purchase food to feed their farm animals. Learning to read shouldn't be boring, and this game will keep your child motivated!

All you need are the workbooks and the link and you're good to go. Just follow the instructions to enter the code from the book. If you don't have the book, you can follow the instructions to sample the app for 10 minutes.

Blast Off to Reading Program App - For our reading program for students, ages 7 to 13.

This app contains many activities that go along with our Blast Off to Reading program. As you go through the program, the book will tell you what to play, since some activities are lesson specific. Also included are the audio dictations, flash cards, and online letter tiles with the reference sound chart (the same chart that is on the back cover of the book).

Blow up asteroids for short and long vowel sounds, trying to avoid the alien ship's lasers, as well as for 'r' controlled vowels, where you have to have a lot of skill to avoid the asteroid storm. Help the caveman keep the aliens from taking our sounds, and help load trucks for the correct letters for the /s/ or /k/ sound. Collect sounds to build a robot, save the earth by getting to the red planet to do battle with an alien ship. Play a matching game for sound or word reading practice, it's the instructor vs. the student (students love playing against an adult) be prepared to lose! Boring is bad, and kids love technology, so keep your student engaged while they learn!

All you need is the workbook and the link. When you open the app, you will be guided to instructions on how to enter a code from the book. The app will tell you where to look in the book for the word to enter.
